Sophie Karp is a Director, Equity Research Analyst with KeyBanc Capital Markets Inc. With the Company since March 2019, her research coverage is focused on utilities companies. Prior to joining KeyBanc Capital Markets, Karp spent three years as a Senior Equity Analyst covering alternative energy and power at Guggenheim Partners. Before that, Karp worked for Citi, first as an Associate, then as an Analyst, covering electric utilities and alternative energy. Other previous experience includes working as an Investment Analyst for Privet Capital and also for Permian Investment Partners. Karp earned an M.S. degree in Information Systems from North Caucasus Federal University in Russia, as well as an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. She also holds the Series 7, 63, 86 & 87 industry licenses. In both 2016 and 2017, Karp was recognized as a “Rising Star” in the alternative energy sector by Institutional Investor Magazine.

Leo Mariani is a Managing Director, Equity Research Analyst with KeyBanc Capital Markets Inc. With the Company since November 2018, his research coverage is focused on oil & gas exploration & production companies.

Mariani has roughly 20 years of experience following the energy sector including approximately 15 years of equity research experience and 5 years of investment banking experience. He previously worked as an E&P analyst for NatAlliance Securities for just over one year, RBC Capital Markets for nearly 10 years, and Jefferies and Company for about 3 ½ years. Prior to that time, he was an investment banker covering the energy sector for both UBS Warburg and PaineWebber.

Mariani graduated with an honors degree from Brown University with a double major in Business Economics and Organizational Behavior & Management, and is also a CFA charterholder.
