Victor Alexander is Head of Consumer Banking. He is responsible for Key’s Consumer, Business Banking, Wealth Management, and Home Lending lines of business nationally. He is also a member of KeyCorp’s Executive Council and Executive Leadership Team. The Consumer Banking teams serve more than 3 million clients with teams in 15 states and national multichannel distribution..
Previously, Victor served as Executive Vice President and Head of Home Lending at KeyBank, where he was responsible for developing and executing strategies for growing Key’s $17B residential real estate loan portfolio.
From 2017 through 2018, Victor served as KeyCorp’s Corporate Treasurer, with responsibility for managing Key’s capital, liquidity, funding, interest rate risk and overall balance sheet management strategies.
Previously, Victor led Key’s Corporate Strategy team, where he partnered with Key’s executive leadership team to shape the Company’s long-term strategic vision. The Corporate Strategy team facilitated the strategic planning process, provided substantive perspectives on business initiatives, and proactively identified and managed acquisition, divestiture, and partnership opportunities for Key.
In October 2015, KeyCorp announced that it had entered into a definitive agreement under which KeyCorp will acquire First Niagara Financial Group, a $40B regional bank with operations throughout the mid-Atlantic. Victor led Key’s due diligence effort and presented frequently to Key’s leadership team and Board of Directors as they evaluated what would be the largest acquisition in the Bank’s 200-year history. Post-announcement, Victor co-led the merger integration transition leadership team for Key, overseeing the integration of a $1.4B business into Key and managing nearly $700 million in one-time merger expenses.
Victor received a B.S. in Finance and Economics, summa cum laude, from John Carroll University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Northeast Ohio, and John Carroll University. He also is a Board Member Emeritus of the Board of Directors at Julie Billiart School, a Catholic grade school serving more than 120 students with special learning needs from across Northeast Ohio.
