Requests for Support
KeyBank Foundation typically reviews and decides upon grant requests each quarter through committees of officers within the organization. There are no deadlines for grant applications. Separate from grants, charitable sponsorship requests are considered as they are received.
KeyBank Foundation values organizations which embrace inclusion. KeyBank Foundation does not make grants to organizations that discriminate against individuals on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, age, gender, gender identity, disability, or sexual orientation. In addition, we generally do not make the following types of grants:
- Grants outside of the following states in which we have retail operations: Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Utah, Vermont, and Washington.
- Grants to individuals.
- Grants for memberships, lobbying or political activities, advertisements, athletic teams, booster clubs and organizations outside the United States, organizations that are inconsistent with U.S. equal opportunity policies, selected organizations with Internal Revenue Code Section 509(a)(3) status.
Prior to Applying
If you’d like to speak with us prior to applying for a grant or charitable sponsorship, please contact KeyBank_Foundation@KeyBank.com with questions. For KeyBank Foundation requests, preliminary grant inquiries are accepted by telephone or in writing. You may also develop a draft of the grant application and share it with us via email prior to submitting. Please provide the following information about your organization and the program for which funding is requested:
- Name
- Address
- Telephone number
- IRS tax-exempt classification
- Tax ID #
- Program description
- Goals you hope to achieve
- Amount requested

Progress Reports
Recipient of grants must submit interim reports on an annual basis and a final report no later than three (3) months after completion of the project and prior to any new funding request. Program grant reports should include copies of all publicity related to the project.
